Doris Ann Britt Caldwell
Doris Caldwell, born in Botetourt County to parents Burnell and Tillie Pullen Britt, passed away January 4, 2024. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her two daughters, Kimberly and Karen, step-son, Darryl Caldwell; a brother-in-law, Morgan Owen, and sister-in -law, Billie Britt.
Doris is survived by her devoted husband, Guy Caldwell, beloved son, Kevin Newcomb, three step-daughters, Tina Caldwell, Stephanie Carter, and Tamara Caldwell; three grandsons, Dustin Caldwell, Zachary Caldwell, and Joshua Caldwell; two granddaughters, Brittany Carter and Hollie Carter; three great grandchildren, Lilly, Remington, and Taylor; sisters Susie Shelton (Dan), Peggy Roten, Rebecca Petty, brother Richard Britt; and many other family members.
Prior to moving to the Roanoke area, Doris was a lifelong resident of Eagle Rock where she, along with her husband, volunteered many hours maintaining the surrounding grounds and beautifying the town with plants and flowers.She was always ready to lend a helping hand to whomever might have a need. She loved her family, was an excellent housekeeper, cook, confidant, friend, and the best sister who will forever be loved and missed!
Doris was a member of Eagle Rock Baptist Church.
Service for Doris will be held at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road, Daleville, VA, on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 2 p.m. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service withPastor Jay Robinette officiating. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery, 519 Shiloh Road, Eagle Rock, Virginia 24085.
