Bernice Ramsey Gibbs Cox

Bernice Ramsey Gibbs Cox, 76, of Ridgeway, Virginia, passed away February 3, 2024. She was born September 16, 1947, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Artis Monroe Ramsey and Mary Florence Bousman Ramsey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Cox; and half-sister, Elaine Young.

Bernice was of the Baptist faith and was a dedicated employee of the main office of Bassett Furniture for more than 40 years. She enjoyed being outdoors, spending time at the beach, hunting and fishing with her late husband, Mark, in their early days, and loved spending time at her camper at Smith Mountain Lake. She loved looking great when going out, cooking and baking, and spending time with her friends and family.

She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Gibbs Brown; son-in-law, Mark Brown; brother, Bill Ramsey of Fayetteville, North Carolina; half-brother, Michael Glasgow of Salem, Virginia; and two grandchildren, Londyn and Zachary.

The memorial service will be Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel.
