Malinda Dixon

October 30, 1950 - February 6, 2024

Malinda Dixon transitioned home to be with the Lord on February 6, 2024. “Redd” as she was affectionately known to most, was born on October 30, 1950, to the late Virginia Motley and Thomas Dixon Sr. in Danville, Virginia. She was the 4th of 9 children.

Redd graduated from Southside High School. She was employed with Distant, Richmond Cedar Works and later with Dibrells/Dimon of Danville for over 30 years.

Malinda accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age at Oak Grove Baptist Church She was the proud mother who loved and adored her only daughter Stephanie. Red loved her family and friends; always putting family first. She believed time with them built strong roots and she stood tall with them.

Redd leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved daughter, Stephanie (Eric), 8 brothers and sisters, Elizabeth Castille, Evelyn Henry, Patricia Long, Thomas Dixon (Ethel), Michael Motley, Debra Dees (Tony), Ralph Motley (Dorothy), Michelle Motley, Godchild Dani Dees, and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on February 12, 2024 at 12:00 Noon at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, 3995 Franklin Turnpike, Danville, VA 24540, with Bishop Patrick L. Dewberry presiding.
