Steve Shively

On February 14, 2024 Steve Shively, age 69, passed from life to eternity after a brief illness. Steve was a well known musician and band leader. His music career spanned many years and took him to many venues. He studied drafting at Ferrum College and currently worked for Virginia Furniture Market/Home Furnishings in the mattress division. He was also partner with his brother Rod at Outlet Recording, Rocky Mount. Steve also recorded a weekly radio spot for WYTI Radio in Rocky Mount, Va. Steve was pre-deceased by his parents, Kermit E. & Geneva Shively; his brother, Jim Shively of Richmond and his brother, Rod Shively of Ferrum. He is survived by his sister, Margo Shively Brake (Johnnie); his fiancé, Sandy Via and her grandson Jeremiah; his tong time friend and business associate, Mary Ellen Flack along with many nieces and nephews, friends and band members. Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2024 with Pastor Jay Richards officiating. Interment will follow in Endicott Cemetery. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
