Sue Winstead Turpin

Sue Winstead Turpin, 74, passed into her heavenly home on February 28, 2024. She was born on January 4, 1950 in Roxboro, NC to the late Lovelene Stewart Winstead and the late Raymond H. Winstead.

Sue was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir and a missionary member. She worked for many years as an inspector at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company previous to her retirement.

Sue is survived by a daughter; Tangelia Faulkner-Totten (Hugh) of Milton, NC; a son; Wray Faulkner (Jannotta) of Battleboro, NC; two sisters; Elaine Clayborn and Janet Stewart (Clarence); a brother; Douglas Smith; two grandchildren; Daylan Totten and Jaylah Faulkner, and one great grandchild; Abel; as well as a very special friend; Jean Elmore.

In addition to her parents, Sue was predeceased by a sister; Jeanette Gunn.

A visitation to celebrate the life of Mrs. Turpin will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 1:30-2:45pm at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA. Interment will immediately follow at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery, 12578 NC-119, Semora, NC 27343.
