Tommy Carter

Tommy Carter, 82, of Axton, Virginia, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024. He was born August 19, 1941, in Henry County, Virginia, to the late Albert Carter, Sr. and Beatrice Hairston Carter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Rosetta Carter Hairston; and brother, Albert Carter, Jr.

Tommy was a dedicated employee of Bassett Furniture for over 47 years. He loved gardening, working, spending time with his family, and helping his community.

He is survived by his spouse, Elizabeth D. Carter; and sons, Damon Carter, and Tommy Carter, Jr. (Tristan).

The funeral will be Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Reverend Tyler C. Millner officiating. Burial will follow at Hairston Family Cemetery at 3504 Cascade Mill Road, Cascade, Virginia 24069. Visitation will be thirty minutes prior.
