Eric Rolando Spencer

Eric Rolando Spencer, 37, of Axton, Virginia, passed away Monday, April 8, 2024. He was born December 29, 1986, in Martinsville, Virginia to Lois “Sally” Penn-Spencer and the late William “Buck” Spencer.In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Floyd William Penn and Margaret Preston-Penn and William and Manirva Spencer; paternal great grandparents, Floyd, and Virginia Preston.Eric was a 2006 graduate from Magna Vista High School and attended Barber-Scotia College in Charlotte, North Carolina where he earned his associate degree. In his earlier years, he was a football star at Magna Vista, where he was always the number one player. Eric was very passionate about music and was a rapper known as “Official Spencer”; he was very well known around Martinsville, Henry County, and the Greensboro, North Carolina area. He enjoyed repairing, painting, and detailing cars. Above everything else in his life, he adored his children. Eric never met a stranger; if you were blessed enough to meet him, you loved him. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.In addition to his mother Sally Spencer, he is survived by; daughter, Aziah Martin; sons, Tristian Spencer, and Ethan Spencer; sisters, Shaynell Spencer, and Ashley Spencer; brother, Vincent Penn; a very special friend, Deidra Sturgill Spencer; as well as a host of other relatives and many close friends.The funeral will be Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Mayo Missionary Baptist Church with Doctor Roy T. Dalton officiating. Burial will follow at Preston Family Cemetery located on Chestnut Knob Road, Martinsville, Virginia.
