Robert Leo Judge
Robert Leo Judge (Bob or to his closest friends Zig), passed away after a long struggle with dementia on June 4, 2024 at the Virginia Veteran’s Care Center (VVCC) in Salem, VA.
Bob was born September 29, 1946, in Bronx, New York, to Leo and Evelyn Judge. On December 16, 1965, he was drafted into the Army, where he met his lifelong friend Jack Biggio (Zig). Following boot camp, but prior to him leaving for the Vietnam War, he met Roseann Biggio (Rosie), the love of his life. Upon completion of his tour of duty, he returned to New York where he married Rosie and they started a family. In the mid 1970’s they moved to Virginia where they raised their four children. Bob was a man of few words, but many talents. He was easy to love, quick to inspire and wield an intellect second to none.
He is preceded by his parents, sister Peggy; brothers Johnny and Billy.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Roseann; three sons, Rob (Gina), Ron (Lisa), Dan (Amanda) and daughter Jennifer (Scott); grandchildren Macy, Marc, Kaile, Eleana, Evelyn, Morgan and Katherine (Katie).
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 10:00 am at Lotz Funeral Home, Salem, VA with interment to follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made by mail to the Virginia Veterans Service Foundation. In the memo section on the check, write “Robert Judge – VVCC”. This will honor Bob and recognize the caring staff of 1 East at VVCC in Salem, whom the family will be forever grateful.
