Peggy "Grammy" Jo Decker

Peggy Jo “Grammy” Decker, 80, of Roanoke, passed away peacefully in the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Decker; son, Lee Barlow; and parents, Joseph and Peggy Falls.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Robyn (Kirby) Smeltzer; grandchildren, Dakota Barlow (Whitney), Paige Smeltzer, and Elizabeth Smeltzer.

She was a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend known for her passion for art, antiquing, games, shopping, and spending time with loved ones. Peggy Jo graduated from William Flemming High School, class of '62. She had a diverse career as a homemaker, hairdresser, small business owner, caregiver, and artist. She was an active member of the League of Roanoke Artists and exhibited her work in regional art shows. To me, she was my rock.
