Carolyn Sue Carter

Carolyn Sue Lovern Carter, 78, of Salem, Virginia, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2024. Born on January 27, 1946, to the late Lawrence and Ruby Lovern, she is also preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Leonard Dale Carter. Carolyn was a loving person who treasured God and her family.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Tina (John) Philips, and Scott (Rachael) Freeman; grandchildren, Benjamin Freeman, Robert (Rebekah) Philips and Evan (Diane) Philips, and great grandchildren, Hartwell Philips and Adalyn Philips.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, Virginia. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
