Shelby Denise Hill Dix

Shelby Denise Hill Dix, 53, passed away on August 28, 2024. She was born in Danville, VA on November 17, 1970 to the late Betty Callahan Johnson and the late Thomas Hill.

Shelby was of the Christian Faith, and worked for many years as a Residential Care Provider. She loved all of her family and friends, but had a special love for her Grandson, Trenton Shawn Oakes.

In addition to her special Grandson Trenton, Shelby is survived by two daughters; Heather Marie Hill and Brooke Lynn Oakes both of Danville, VA; two sisters; Toby Hill of Danville, VA and Teresa Moore of Yanceyville, NC; a brother; Randy Moore of Wilmington, NC; special friends; Missy Myers, P.J. Booth, Pattie Miller, and Amanda Burnett; her former husband; Jamie Dix; as well as many other numerous nieces, nephews and other special friends.

In addition to her parents, Shelby was predeceased by a sister; Debra Jones and a brother; Roger Jones.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 6:00pm at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA with Pastor Teresa Hawker officiating. A visitation will be held on the same day prior to the service from 5-6:00pm also at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel.
