H. Daniel Morrison

H. Daniel Morrison, 94, of Martinsville, Virginia, peacefully passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at his residence. Born on January 11, 1930, in Henry County, Virginia, he was the son of the late George William Morrison and Annie Harris Morrison. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elsie Cassell Morrison; his grandson, Zachary Craddock; and his eleven sisters and brothers.

Daniel proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a founding member of the Blue Ridge Cycle Club, where he shared his passion for racing motorcycles. He was a devoted member of Mountain View Baptist Church, where his faith and fellowship were central to his life.

Daniel leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion through his son, Danny Ray Morrison and his wife, Vickie; his four daughters, Deborah Puckett, Carolyn Belcher and her husband, Randy, Sr., Susan Ferguson, and Sharon Cox and her husband, C.J. He was a proud grandfather to eleven grandchildren: Glen (Jr.), Jeremy, Daniel, Jessica, Randy Jr., Melissa, Heather, R.J., Timmy, and Brayden, as well as a great-grandfather to sixteen great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandfather to two.

The family will receive friends and family Monday, September 2, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mountain View Baptist Church. The funeral will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Mountain View Baptist Church with Pastor Jason Alverson officiating. A burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.
