Aubrey Lee Smith

Aubrey Lee Smith, 77, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at the home of his daughter, Tammy Clark, in Martinsville, VA. He was born on December 20, 1946, in Franklin County, VA to the late Clarence Smith and the late Zelma Holland Smith. He was married to the late Mary Ann Creasy Smith.

Aubrey leaves behind a host of loving family members to cherish his memory, including, daughter Tammy Clark (Jay), son, Chad Smith (Dawn), all of Martinsville, sisters, Judy Smith of Ridgeway, VA, Clarissa Williams of Spencer, VA, Melissa Spencer (Jeff) of Patrick County, VA and Michelle Tolliver (Sean) of Greensboro, NC, as well as a brother J.R. Smith of Spencer, grandchildren Jessica Branch (Justin), Ashley Compton (Curt), Juston Smith and Jade Smith, and great-grandchildren, Shawn Doyle and Jackson Branch.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Smith.

Aubrey was a working man who worked for DuPont Manufacturing for many years prior to his retirement. He also volunteered to serve his community as a volunteer fireman. After retirement from DuPont, he used his talents to open a sharpening service called S&S Sharpening

A visitation by friends will be held from 12:00 p.m.to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel. The family will also receive friends Friday, September 6, 2024, from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. at the home of his son, Chad and Dawn Smith, 240 Westbrook Lane, Martinsville.

The memorial service for Aubrey will take place following the Saturday visitation at 2:00 p.m., also at Norris Funeral Services.
