Edward "Bully" M. Ferguson Sr.
Edward “Bully” Marshall Ferguson, Sr., 88, was reunited with the love of his life in heaven in the early morning hours on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at his home surrounded by his entire family.
Born in Appomattox County, VA, on November 16, 1935, he was the son of the late Curtis R. and Hazel M. Ferugson. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Hilda Mae Davidson Ferguson and three siblings, Curtis “Dick” Ferguson, Alice Jean Childress, and Geraldine Litchford.
Bully is survived by his three sons, Edward Jr. and wife, Delores, Michael and wife, Sheila, and Terry and wife, Melissa; eight grandchildren, Shannon Joy (Michael), Bryan Ferguson (Noelle), Brandon Ferguson (Shelby), Kylie Cottrell (Travis), Kendra Page (Matt), Ashton Ferguson, Haley Ferguson, and Emmalyn Ferguson; 13 great-grandchildren, Sommer, Leann, Camden, Alley, Kambree, Austin, Layton, Taylor, Billie, Haislee, Briggs, Keegan, and Breck; and great-great grandchildren, Oaklen and Brileigh.
His family and his Lord and Savior were his greatest joy. He loved them with his whole heart, and what a big heart he had!
He was a member of Bible Baptist Church and served in the US Army in the Korean War. Bully retired from the Lynchburg Foundry and Thomasville Furniture. After retirement, he was employed at the Spout Spring Convenience Center.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am, Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Bible Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Robert E. Lee and Pastor Jonathan Watson. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service or at other times at the home of Michael and Sheila Ferguson.
