Janie Mayes

Janie Mayes, 74, of Ridgeway, Virginia passed away Friday, March 25, 2022, at her residence. She was born December 3, 1947, in Patrick County, Virginia to the late Robert Corns and Ruth Mabe Corns.

Janie was a member of Wayside Baptist Church, choir member, church treasurer and loved attending church services. She also loved to read and travel. Janie was a home childcare provider for over thirty years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Roy Mayes; sister, Angela Martin; and brother, Gary Corns.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon G. Mayes; grandchildren, Shay Haynes, Nikki Barton, and Ricky Hooper; great-grandson, Jaxon Barton; and daughter of the heart, Kendra Horsley.

A Funeral will be held Thursday, March 31, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at Wayside Baptist Church, 1256 Morehead Ave, Ridgeway, Virginia 24148, with Rev. Billy Hicks and Rev. Craig Hicks officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2022, from 6:00-7:30 PM, at Wayside Baptist Church
