Vera A. Thornton 84, of Bassett passed away on June 13, 2022 at the Martinsville Health and Rehab. She was born on July 26, 1937 in Henry Co, the daughter of the late Sam Lee Easley and the late Savannah Hairston Easley.Vera was preceded in death by her husband Lester Thornton, brothers and sisters, Billy Andrew Easley, Samuel Lynwood Easley, McArthur Lee Easley, Barbara Lee Easley and Katherine Ann Easley Hairston.
Surviving her sister Mary Inez Brown and several nieces and nephews. There will be a floating visitation on Friday, June 17 from 12-6 p.m. at Bassett Funeral Service. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. at Mount Hermon Church of the Brethren Church Cemetery.
