Catherine Reid Virts

Catherine Reid Virts, 99, of Roanoke went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 25, 2020 surrounded by her family and holding the hand of her first born son, Michael. She was preceded by her parents, George W. and Beulah Reid; brothers, Jack, Charles, Robert and Thomas; and sisters, Margaret and Louise "Lillie Mae".

Catherine was a Charter Member of North Roanoke Baptist Church. She loved her Lord, family, friends, and fishing. She lived her entire life serving others. She was the light of our lives and will continue to be in our hearts forever.

Surviving are her sons, Michael (Donna), Steve (Lisa) and their sister, Patty (Lewis); sister, Betty (Charles); numerous nieces and nephews; longtime friend and caregiver, Lisa; loving sidekicks, Annie Mae and Macy Mae and friends too numerous to mention.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Amedysis Hospice.

A graveside service will be held noon Thursday, May 28, 2020 in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Daniel Palmer will officiate. There will be no visitation. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
