Ada "Louise" Leasor Catron
Ada Louise Leasor Catron, 85, of Salem, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025. Born February 17, 1939, in Hardin, Kentucky, to the late Irva and Bertha Howey Leasor, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Joe Catron; brother, Chester Leasor and son-in-law, Otis Switzer.
Louse grew up on a tobacco farm in Kentucky until her marriage to her husband brought her to Salem, where together, they raised their family. Most of her time was spent behind the wheel, serving as a well-loved, memorable school bus driver for Roanoke County and the City of Salem, until her retirement. Louise’s free time was spent out in her yard working in her garden, growing beautiful flowers, and taking care of the birds.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Grace Switzer; granddaughter, Ella Switzer; brother, Kenny Leasor and wife, Betty; many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends, and special friend, Ann Whitenack.
The family will welcome friends for a time of visitation on Sunday, February 9, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., in the Upper Parlor of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, February 10, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Greg Irby officiating. Interment immediately following in Sherwood Memorial Park.
