Adrian Lafaytte Terry

Adrian LaFaytte Terry Jr., 94, passed away peacefully at his residence on March 11, 2026, surrounded by his family. Adrian was born in Danville, VA on December 6, 1931 to the late Bernice Alley Terry and the late Adrian LaFaytte Terry Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Mrs. Joan Smith Terry.

Adrian was of the Christian Faith, and was a member of Woodberry Hills Baptist Church. He ran his own business, A.L. Terry Plumbing and Heating for many years, previous to his retirement. Adrian also was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

In addition to his wife, Adrian is survived by a daughter; Cathy Dawson and husband Doug of Danville, VA; a brother; Donald Wallace Terry of Conway, SC; three grandchildren; Terry James Adams, Jessica Glover (Andrew), and Adam Dawson (Devin); and one great grandchild; Eli Robert Glover.

In addition to his parents, Adrian was predeceased by two sisters; Alice Jane Carter and Frances Ann Hosking.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the loving care he received thru Mountain Valley Hospice, and his special care givers Kathy and Trish.

A Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 2:00pm, at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA with Pastor Richard Motley officiating. A visitation will be held on the same day, prior to the service from 1-2:00pm, also at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel. Interment will be private.
