Alan Brandau Mansfield

Alan Brandau Mansfield, Sr., 86 of Bedford, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born January 23,1937, a son of the late John George Mansfield and Ruth BrandauMansfield. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Cecelia MansfieldLilliston and Geraldine Mansfield Weeks.

He was owner/operator of the Sealtest Dairy Distributor for ten years, wasthe warehouse supervisor at Bunker Hill Foods for sixteen years and waswith Estes Trucking for five years. He was a longtime member of BedfordBaptist Church and the Liberty Sunday School Class. He was an avidhunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Julia “Judy” Johnson Mansfield; his son, Alan B. Mansfield, Jr. (Nicole); his grandchildren, AvaNicole Mansfield (Sam), Eric David Mansfield (Ana) and Keller MasonWilliams as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends beginning at 10 am on Thursday, May 18,2023 at Bedford Baptist Church and a funeral service will follow at 12 noon.A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. Interment, withmilitary honors,will be in Oakwood/Greenwood CemeteryColumbarium at a later date.
