Alexander Podobinski
Alexander βAlβ Podobinski Jr., 84, passed away on November 2, 2023. He was born on June 30, 1939 in Pittsburg, PA to the late Anastasia Mykicz Podobinski and the late Alexander Podobinski Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Mrs. Cheryl Scearce Podobinski.
Al attended Timberlake Baptist Church for many years with his lovely wife, Cheryl. He regularly attended Saturday evening mass at Scared Heart Catholic Church, his home church for forty years.
He worked for many years as a regional manager for Big Star Inc. prior to his retirement. After his retirement he was the owner operator of A & L Golf Shop in Danville, VA. He was an avid golfer and a member of Glen Oak Golf Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter; Wylanta J. Podobinski of Raleigh, NC; a son; Alexander Podobinski III (Randi) of Willow Spring, NC; a brother; William Podobinski (Donna) of Pittsburgh, PA; a step son; Chris Doolin; three grandchildren; Justin Tew, Kyle Tew and Bryce Podobinski; and special cousins; Leo and Amy Elter.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Timberlake Baptist Church Building Fund at 356 Lindhurst Drive, Danville, VA 24540.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Timberlake Baptist Church, 356 Lindhurst Drive, Danville, VA 24540, with pastor Walter Yancey officiating. A visitation will be held on the same day prior to the service also at the church from 1-2:00pm.
