Alfred Leonard Faulkner
ALFRED LEONARD FAULKNER, age 90, of Rocky Gap, Virginia, died Saturday, January 3, 2026.
Alfred was born November 26, 1935, in Bland County, Virginia, the youngest son of Chester and Nola Pruett Faulkner.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Peggy; siblings Annie, Elizabeth, Glenna, Dolly, Warren, Ray, Albert, and Jim.
Left to cherish his memory are his sisters-in-law Janet Weddle and Elayne Sink; daughter Dr. Rhonda Faulkner, son Rickey Faulkner, daughter-in-law Karen Faulkner; grandchildren Eric & Karen Faulkner, Dr. Adriana Faulkner & Scott Chisolm, Lauren Faulkner, Lindsey Faulkner; and great-grandchildren Raymond and Owen Faulkner.
He joined the U.S. Army in 1954 and served in Korea until 1955.
He was married November 30, 1956 to Peggy Weddle and they were married 56 years until her passing.
Along with his wife, Peggy, Alfred founded Al Faulkner Plumbing and Heating in 1973 and was a respected plumber and businessman.
He was a faithful member of Rocky Gap Methodist Church and was known as the car-man, who enjoyed giving matchbox cars to the children.
Alfred was fun-loving and personable, and left an impression on those who interacted with him.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to his wonderful neighbors, Brian and Kim Payne, special friend Philip Nelson, and his compassionate caregiver Tristan Thompson, who made it possible for Alfred to enjoy his final years in his home.
The family will receive friends at the Rocky Gap Methodist Church Sunday, January 11, 2026 from 3pm - 4pm. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Rodney Lawson officiating. Military rites will be provided at the church by the Bland American Legion Post #20.
Graveside services will be held Monday, January 12, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. Woodlawn Memorial Park, Bluewell, WV.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Rocky Gap Methodist Church.
