Alice May Greene

Alice Woolwine Greene of Roanoke Va. passed away peacefully at age 87 at home surrounded by her family on her favorite holiday of Halloween.

Alice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a dedicated nurse for over 30 years and spent most of her life caring for others. Although she was a quiet, private person, she impacted many lives and left a huge impression on everyone who knew her.

She fiercely loved her family and was a wonderful friend. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 69 years H.L. Greene, son Kenneth (Jill) Greene, daughter Rosemary Greene, three grandchildren Katy(Jamie) Anderson, Maxwell Riddlebarger, Rachael (Taylor) Greene and two great grandchildren, Waverly Anderson and Violet Campbell.She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family would like to thank her Hospice Team, The Feinour Center and her caregivers over the last four years. An extended thanks to Denise, Michelle and Logan of the Carilion Hospice Team for their kindness and compassion.
