Alice Steinbacher Obituary Alice Steinbacher, 96, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2024, in Roanoke, Virginia, with family by her side. Alice, Al, Daughter, Wife, Mom, Grammy, Sister, Aunt, she wore all those hats, and so much more! A roller-skater, which is where she met her husband, Charlie, a "Mom" snow skier, Lightening Sailor, Traveler, and big-game fisherwoman (together with Charlie, they caught a 75-pound Marlin). She loved to sing, and her soprano voice could be heard all around the house. She was a member of the Masterwork Chorus and sang "The Messiah" in Carnegie Hall. She loved to write poetry, advertising copy and lots of influential letters, making herself heard on topics about which she was passionate. Alice was fun, funny, independent, a strict mom, a Pollyanna and had an amazing “Can-Do Attitude”! She was still driving at 94!Alice owned a business for many years, "Steinbacher Advertising", in Morristown, New Jersey and loved using her writing talents to support her clients to grow their businesses. She was awarded an OBIE for a billboard she created. She also published a quarterly paper for seniors in Somerset County titled: "Chapter II". Her work with the Somerset League of Older Americans garnered her a citation for service to the Community. Alice lived happily in Bernardsville, NJ for over 40 years and enjoyed the outdoors and hiking the trails with her dog, Cleo. Her last five years were lived in Roanoke, Va. Alice cherished her family above all.Alice leaves behind five siblings, Daniel O’Rourke, Robert O’Rourke, Michael O’Rourke, and Ellen O’Rourke; two daughters, Barbara Davis, and Kathy (Kate) Steinbacher; two granddaughters, Heather Fones and Melissa Warfield, as well as five great grandchildren!Alice gave us all, and the world, a run for its money! And she did it HER way!A small family gathering will take place in Annapolis, Maryland to honor and celebrate her life.Alice suffered from dementia during her life; in lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to the ALZHEIMER'S ASSOCIATION which may be found by clicking here.
