Alishia Lynn Underwood

Alishia Lynn Underwood, age 36, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025. She was born on September 7, 1988, in Stuart, Virginia, to Robert Lee Underwood and Teresa Hill. Alishia was preceded in death by her grandparents: Stanley Underwood, James Walker, Thelma Moore, James Hill, and Curtis Moore.

She was a member of Community Baptist Church. Alishia had a deep love for animals, especially elephants and dolphins, and enjoyed visiting the zoo. She also had a passion for racing and traveling.

Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Teresa Hill; her father, Robert Lee Underwood (Sharon); her three sons, Jayden Durham, James Durham, and Jonah Durham; two sisters, Amanda Lockhart (Sean) and Courtney Underwood (Hunter); her grandmother, Mary Underwood Walker; three nephews; three nieces; her fiancée, Johnathan McCoy; two uncles, Lewis Underwood (Lisa) and Doug Underwood (Teresa); her aunt, Bonnie Wagoner (Ronnie); her fur baby, Bentley; and many other beloved family members and friend.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel with Brother J.D. Harmon and family friend Anthon Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Country Line Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery.
