Allie Humphreys

Mrs. Allie Bradley Humphreys, age 89, of Covington, died Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at TerraBella Senior Living Facility in Roanoke. She was married to the late William Milton Humphreys for 38 years.
Mrs. Humphreys was born August 12, 1934 in Alleghany County, the youngest of 10 children born to the late John Marshall Bradley and Allie Palmer Bradley.
A graduate of Dunlap High School, she lived most of her life in the Covington area. During her working career, she had been a hairdresser and for many years was owner and operator of Creative Beauty Salon in Covington.
Mr. and Mrs. Humphreys were members of Edgemont Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Her caring and compassionate nature endeared her to family and friends alike. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, reading and spending time with family.
Mrs. Humphreys is survived by three sons, Robert Edward McFadden, of Covington, William Milton “Tony” Humphreys Jr., of Newport News, Terry Alan Humphreys (Lorrie) of Covington; a sister, Regina Via of Woodstock; four grandchildren, Benton McCormick (Allison) of Covington, Danielle Walker (Josh) of Enterprise, AL, Samantha McCormick of Covington, Amber Seith (Mark) of Roanoke; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Humphreys was preceded in death by five brothers, Ivan Hobert Bradley, Rufus Guy Bradley, John Marshall “Buck” Bradley, Edward “Ebie” Bradley, Charles Alvin “Chuck” Bradley; three sisters, Virginia Bradley “Ginny” Harter, Imogene Bradley “Imy” Barger, Icaphine Bessie “Icy” Bradley; a sister-in-law, Lillian Jane "T-Heart" Humphreys; and a brother-in-law, Donald “Brother” Humphreys.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 19 at 2:00 at Loving Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with the Rev. James MacDougall officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Edgemont ARP Church, 2306 South Church Ave., Covington, VA 24426.
