Anita Dillard

Anita Tarpley Dillard, 67, of Martinsville, VA transitioned on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Piney Forest Health and Rehab in Danville, VA. She was born in Callands, VA on July 9, 1953 a daughter of the Late Dorsey and Beatrice Harris Tarpley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerome and Leon Tarpley.
She was formerly employed at Bassett-Walker and was a member of Fresh Start Ministries where she served as a Deaconess and the Culinary Ministry.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, James Clay Dillard, of the home; one son, Corby Dillard, of Martinsville, VA; three sisters, Jeraldine Millner, Shirley (Bobby) Carter and Kathleen Toney, all of Danville, VA; and three grandchildren, LeDeja Dillard, Demarias Dillard and Karson Dorsey' caregiver, Octavia Witcher and special friend, Larneil Grant-Wright.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Roselawn Burial Park with Pastor Lewis Waller officiating. A floating visitation will be held Monday, January 4, 2021 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at Hines Funeral Services Chapel. Facial coverings and social distancing will be observed.
