Anita Fountain Oliver

Anita Karen Fountain Oliver, affectionately known as ‘Neet, was born July 5, 1948 and quietly departed this earthly life on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at WakeMed Cary Hospital in Cary, North Carolina.

She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frederick C. and Hilda Callender Fountain.

Anita was born and raised in Clifton Forge. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior at age 9. She was a member of many church organizations and taught Sunday School for a period of time. Anita graduated Jefferson High School in 1966 and went on to continue her education at Worth Business College in Fayetteville, North Carolina receiving a degree in Secretarial Science.

In 1971, she married Charles E. Oliver, Sr (deceased) of Fayetteville, NC and of this union, her only son, Charles E. Oliver, Jr. was born. She dedicated her life to his upbringing and care.

Professionally, she wore many hats for Cumberland County Schools in Fayetteville. She was a loved and respected Bookkeeper, retiring after 43 years of dedicated service.

She is survived by her son, Charles E. Oliver, Jr (Terease) of Cary, North Carolina; her loving big brother, Frederick C. Fountain, Jr (Anita) of Charlotte, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Trinity Elise Oliver and Camille Elizabeth Oliver of Cary, North Carolina, one surviving aunt, Madeline W. Callender of Roanoke, Virginia; nephew Frederick C. Fountain, Jr. of Kernersville, North Carolina; niece Qiana T. Hasberry (Aarick) of Charlotte, North Carolina; and a host of cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Clifton Forge. Interment will follow in Red Hill Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be selected from cousins and friends attending the service. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service at the church.
