Annette Young Crane

Annette Young Crane, 81, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2025. Annette was born on August 22, 1943 in Danville, VA to the late Margie Layell Young Murray and the late Randolph Meade Young.

Annette was of the Christian Faith, and worked for many years as the City Clerk for the City of Danville, VA previous to her retirement.

Annette is survived by two sons; Patrick Crane (Mary) and John Crane both of Danville, VA; a sister; Kaye Young Jones and husband George; grandchildren; Ryan D. Burton and Amy Crane Turner and husband Kirk; a great grandchild; Hunter Ree Burton; brother in law; Michael Hughes; a special friend; Patti Teiper, and her beloved cat; Hunter.

In addition to her parents, Annette was predeceased by a sister; Betsy Young Hughes.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Berchuk and his staff, and Dr. Akinleye at the Danville Cancer Center as well. They also would like to thank the loving and caring staff at Piney Forrest Health and Rehab and Mountain Valley Hospice.

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 11:00am, at the Young Family Cemetery, Wallace Lane, Dry Fork, VA 24549, with Pastor Gerald Kelly officiating.
