Annie Mae Bryant Hanks

Annie Mae Bryant Hanks, 78, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025. Annie Mae was born in Dry Fork, VA on April 3, 1947 to the late Louise Richardson Bryant and the late Frank Bryant. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Mr. Eugene Alvin Hanks on June 4, 1999. They were happily married for 32 years, having gotten married on February 17, 1967.

Annie Mae was of the Christian Faith and a longtime member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Tunstall High School in 1967. She worked for many years as a Sales Clerk for Belks, previous to her retirement in 2003.

Annie is survived by a daughter; Sandy H. Spencer and her husband W.D. Spencer of Ringgold, VA. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to “her lady’s.”

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Mt. Hermon Fire and Rescue, 4268 Franklin Turnpike, Danville, VA 24540.

A Graveside Funeral Service will held on Monday, November 24, 2025 at 2:00pm at Highland Burial Park, with Pastor Steve Chromy officiating.
