Annis Jarrett Mize

Annis Jarrett Mize, 84, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 29, 2025, at her home. She was born on August 22, 1941, to the late Frank Jarrett and Agnes Lee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elwood Mize, and her sister, Janice Jarrett.

Annis was a faithful member of the former Bassett Church of the Brethren before becoming a member of Mt. Herman Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by her nephew, Anthony Lee Jarrett of Bassett, Virginia, along with many dear friends.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2025, at Mt. Herman Church of the Brethren at 12:00 p.m., with Pastor Noel Naff and Dr. J. D. Harmon officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Mt. Herman Church of the Brethren Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bassett Rescue Squad, 1950 Riverside Drive, Bassett, Virginia 24055.
