Anthony Baker

Anthony Eli “Tony” Baker, age 62, of 613 Brussels Ave, Clifton Forge, Virginia passed away Friday, April 28, 2023 at his residence.

He was born March 23, 1961 in Pearisburg, Virginia to the late Eugene Hunter Baker and Naomi V. Riner Baker. He was a custodian for First Presbyterian Church, Covington, an orderly for the former Liberty House in Clifton Forge and a member of Clifton Forge Baptist Church. He was a past president and member of the J.C for many years, helping with the radiothon and a former member of the Clifton Forge Moose Lodge. Tony loved to play Santa.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, Melanie Sammons.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Bess Linkenhoker Baker of Clifton Forge; a step son, George Michael Linkenhoker and wife, Johanna of Richmond; four brothers, Roger Baker and wife, Linda of Florida, Melvin Baker of Greensboro, Dean Baker of Winston-Salem, Wayne Baker and wife, Christie of Covington; two grandchildren, Paxton and Bennett Linkenhoker; a number of nieces and nephews; and his many Facebook friends.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 2:00PM in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge with Reverend Glenn Linthicum officiating. Interment will immediately follow. Friends may visit with the family following the service.
