Anthony France

Anthony France, 78, of Martinsville, Virginia, transitioned from this earthly life Thursday, September 4, 2025. He was born May 25, 1947, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Clarence France and Virginia Dandridge Bell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John France and Curtis France; and stepmother, Christine France.

Anthony was of the Christian faith and a member of New Life in Christ. He was a man of many interests who was content with the simple things in life that were meaningful. He loved the outdoors and could often be found at the beach or fishing. He enjoyed racing, listening to great music, cooking delicious home-cooked meals, and watching oldie television shows. But above all of these things, Anthony was a father, brother, and grandfather who loved his family and enjoyed making memories with each of them.

His legacy of love and kindness has been left to a host of family and friends including his daughter, Terrie Finney; stepdaughter, Jessica Towler (Billy); son, Tracey France (Jessica); stepson, Justin Shrader (Kelsea); sister, Regenia Spencer; grandchildren, Tangela Miller, Travese France, Talow France, Jagger France; step-grandson, Nicholas Towler; and the love of his life, Cindy Shrader. He leaves behind his beloved pet, Jax Master.

A memorial service will be held Friday, September 12, 2025, at 6:30 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor A.C. Palmer officiating. Visitation will be held one-half hour prior to the service.
