Anthony Robert Gulluscio

January 14, 1941 - January 16, 2025

Anthony Robert Gulluscio, 84, of Forest, VA passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2025, and went to be with his Lord. He was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing.

Born on January 14, 1941, in Brooklyn, NY, Anthony was raised on Shelter Island, NY, the son of the late Dominic and Antoinette (Calabro) Gulluscio. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 59 years, Joann Abruzzino Gulluscio, and a loving father to their four children.

Anthony proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and later joined the US Navy Reserves. After his military service, he became a skilled mechanic with Pan American Airlines, where he worked for over 27 years. Following his retirement, he took on the role of Long Island Regional Director for the Associated Musicians of Greater New York, further dedicating himself to service in his community.

A man of faith, Anthony was an active member of Thomas Road Baptist Church, where he found strength and joy in his relationship with the Lord. He was a devoted family man who cherished his children and grandchildren. In his younger years, he coached Little League baseball and served as a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts, passing on valuable life lessons to the next generation.

In his leisure time, Anthony enjoyed golfing, bowling, and was a passionate fan of the NY Giants and NY Yankees. He was a familiar face in local bowling leagues, where his love for the game was well-known. Above all, he cherished spending time with his loved ones.

In addition to his wife Joann, Anthony is survived by his four children: Robert Gulluscio (Olga), Chris Gulluscio (Laurie), John Gulluscio, and Dawn Garman (Josh); two brothers, Peter Gulluscio and Charlie Gulluscio; and nine grandchildren, who will carry on his legacy of love and devotion.

A service celebrating Anthony’s life and faith will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Thomas Road Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Tunnel to Towers, a charity that honors the sacrifices of first responders and military service members. Contributions can be made at www.t2t.org.

Anthony’s life was a testament to his faith, love for his family, and dedication to serving others. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
