Anthony Sammy Roberts

Anthony Sammy Roberts, 76, of Bassett, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Carilion-Franklin Memorial Hospital in Rocky Mount. He was born in Ieager, WV on January 20, 1947, the son of the late Clyde Roberts and the late Gracie Bailey Roberts. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Auldie Roberts, Delbert Roberts and Frankie Roberts; sisters, Christine Hancock and Pansy Roberts.

Anthony is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Eva Hale Roberts; daughters, Lisa Iseman and Greta Roberts (Earl Scearce); granddaughters, Samantha Hill, Emily Merriman and Holley Wimbish; great-grandchildren, Dagan White, Alexander Wimbish, Gaberiel Wimbish and Ava Hill; brother, Frances Ray Roberts; sisters, Lenora Eller and Pinky Russell; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 16, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Stanleytown Amazing Grace Baptist Church. The funeral will be on Monday, April 17, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Stanleytown Amazing Grace Baptist Church with Dr. Greg Hodges officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park in Martinsville.
