Areti Konstantinidi Clidence

Areti Konstantinidi Clidence, 78, of Lynchburg, VA passed away at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, February 18, 2025.

Born in Crete, Greece on January 25, 1948, she was a daughter of the late John Konstantinidi and Christolo Kefalouka Konstantinidi. Areti was a loving and talented homemaker for most of her life, pouring into others and showering them with support and affections and was most recently a devoted member of Jordan Baptist Church.

Areti fiercely loved her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren above all else. She was blessed with a gift for caring for other people and fulfilled that in many capacities; even those outside of her family. She enjoyed artistic hobbies like needlepoint and sewing, in which she made many dresses for her daughters and blankets for her great-grandchildren; memories that they will cherish forever.

In addition to her parents, Areti is preceded in death by nine siblings, Dimitri, Michael, George, Kaliopi, Marina, Dimokratia, Katina, and Manolis.

Areti is survived by her beloved husband, Terry Lee Clidance; her six children, Christine Bonds, Terri Ann Arrington (Kevin), Lisa Rhem (Curtis), John Clidence (Esther), James Clidence, and Dustin Clidence, Sr. (Alicia); nine grandchildren, Andrea, Charity, Nicole, Hannah, Marcus, William, Emmalee, Abagail, and Aidan; and six great-grandchildren plus one on the way.

A funeral service celebrating Areti’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Pastor James Clidence officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
