Arnold L. Turpin

September 5, 1938 - June 26, 2025

Arnold L. Turpin Sr. (Aka Ben Turpin), a proud U.S. Navy veteran, passed away on June 26, 2025 in Salem, Va. He was 86 years old.

Arnold was born on September 5, 1938 in Montgomery Co. to Stanley and Estelle Turpin with two brothers he is preceded in death. He proudly served in the United States Navy until 1961. During his service, he served on the USS Hale DD-642, Fletcher Class Destroyer.

After his military service, Arnold worked as a Master Electrician, and retired from Yokahama Tire Manufacturing. He drove a school bus for Roanoke County Schools shortly after his retirement for his passion within his community. He was known for his dedication, integrity, kindness, and made a lasting impact on those he worked with. In his retirement, Arnold enjoyed playing golf, riding motorcycles, and spending time with family.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Pamela Turpin of 20 years, his child, Lewis Turpin, step children; Robert Jamison, Tammy Thompson and Samantha Sirry and many grandchildren and a great grandchild.

A funeral service is planned at 2:00pm on July 5, 2025 at Lotz Funeral Home, 1330 E Main St. Salem, Va 24153, with military honors.
