Arthur "Willie" William Potter

Arthur “Willie” William Potter, Jr., 76 of Roanoke, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025.

He was born on August 8, 1949 in Roanoke, son of the late Arthur W. Potter, Sr. and the late JoAnn B. Potter. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 29 years, Teresa M. Potter and brother, Tommy Potter.

Willie was the Assistant Vice President of Loan Operations with First Virginia Bank/BB&T when he retired. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching sports, especially UVA, and spending time with his friends. One of his greatest pleasures however was spending time with his grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Charity P. Crigger (Jon); a son, Tab Potter (Megan); three brothers, Steve Potter (Laura), Ricky Potter, and Mark Potter. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Hunter, Ainsley, Brody, Eloise, and Matilda.

A graveside service will held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 with military honors at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5731 Airport Road, NW, Roanoke, VA. A Celebration of Life for Willie will be held at Don Ho’s Restaurant & Lounge, 365 Lee Highway, Roanoke, VA following the graveside service.

The family would like to thank the staff of Davis and McDaniel Veterans Care Center for the loving care that was given to Willie while he was there.
