Aubrey Daniel Desper

Aubrey “Danny” Daniel Desper, 81, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 11, 2023.

Danny is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Peggy; children, Margie, Betty (Patrick), and John (Regina); 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Elaine; and brother, David (Wanda).

Danny worked for many years for the City of Salem. He preached at the jails, umpired, sang at Nursing Homes, and he never met a stranger. He enjoyed meeting his friends for breakfast at McDonald’s. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was known to his grandchildren as “D-daddy”.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at 4:00pm at Simpson Funeral Home (Peters Creek). Visitation will be prior from 3:00-4:00pm.
