Aubrey Miller Sheppard

Aubrey Miller Sheppard, 80, of Sunnyside passed away May 29, 2025, at Lewis Gale Hospital Montgomery. He was preceded in death by his wife Frances Jones Sheppard, parents Jesse and Dorothy Sheppard, sister Linda Parmelee, nephew Larry Akers, niece Lynn Akers. Aubrey is survived by his son and daughter-in-law William “Link” Sheppard (Amy); granddaughter Chelsea Sheppard; sister Eunice Jones; nephew Gary Akers (Shirley); niece Ruth Ann Akers; great-nephews Sheldon Akers, Justin Akers (Whitney), and Nicholas Akers (Makayla); brothers-in-laws Richard “Bubby” Jones (Jo) and Kawood Graham; cousins Ronnie Sheppard and Kay Dunford; special friends Frances Wright, Chuck Shorter, Steve Graham, and Mary Lee Linkous. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Fresenius Kidney Care Montgomery County, especially Sarah Venable, for all the care he has received over the last 3 years. The family would also like to express a heartfelt appreciation for all the love and care provided to Aubrey given by Tina Martin, as Aubrey referred to her as his “honorary” daughter. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 2, 2025, from 5-7 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home. A public graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 11 a.m. at 4380 Longshop Rd, Blacksburg with Reverend Neal Turner officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Longshop McCoy Fire and Rescue Department.
