Audrey Stinnette Padgett

Audrey Elizabeth Stinnette Padgett, 92, of Madison Heights, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 4, 2025, at Fairmont Crossing.

Born on April 28, 1933, in Amherst County, Audrey was the daughter of the late Henry Stinnette and Nellie Burley Stinnette. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lewis Graham Padgett; two sons, Larry Padgett and Gary Padgett; as well as three brothers and three sisters.

Audrey is survived by her sons, Mike Padgett (Dale), Bill Padgett (Vickie), and Ronnie Padgett (Brenda), all of Madison Heights; her daughter-in-law, Charlene Padgett; eight grandchildren, Michael Padgett, Jason Padgett, Cliff Padgett, Joe Padgett, Ashley Davis, Kimberly Padgett, Angie Smith and Vicky Kilbourne; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Audrey retired from Old Dominion Box Company, where she worked faithfully for many years. Known for her adventurous spirit, Audrey had a deep love for traveling. Whether it was a bus tour with friends or a spontaneous trip, she embraced the joy of exploring new places. Her favorite journeys, however, were those that brought her closer to her family. Audrey’s happiest moments were spent surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured for generations.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Fort Hill Memorial Park, with Pastor Derik Hamby officiating.

The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the Hospice of Virginia and the compassionate staff at Fairmont Crossing for their excellent care and support.

Audrey’s warmth, strength, and love of life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
