Melvin Lewis Bowles, Jr.

Melvin Lewis Bowles Jr., 79, of Daleville, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Lewis Bowles Sr. and Adele Marie Huffman Bowles. Melvin is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Dolories W. Bowles; children, Monica Tillman (Mike) and Brian Bowles (Vanessa); grandchildren, Mackenzie Tillman, Izabela Bowles, and Ava Bowles; siblings, Susanne Angus, David M. Bowles (Marcia), and Donald W. Bowles (Liza); and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Melvin was a kind gentle man who retired from Virginia Tech as Associate Director of Compliance. He was an avid sports enthusiast who loved his Hokies and the New York Yankees. His hobbies were woodworking and collecting baseball memorabilia. He adored his granddaughters, being their Pop Pop B.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church with more information coming at a later date. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home.
