Bonnie Robertson Tingler

December 30, 1937 - May 12, 2022

Bonnie Robertson Tingler, 84, of Salem, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 12, 2022.

She was born on December 30, 1937, in Roanoke, Va., the daughter of the late George Edward and Isabelle Janelle Ragland Robertson.
In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Haupt; 3 brothers; 1 sister; and her loving cat, “Binx.”

Bonnie was a life-long member of West Salem Baptist Church and attended regularly until the decline in her health prevented her to attend. She enjoyed reading, particularly her bible, she enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, and she certainly enjoyed her westerns on TV. Bonnie was known to be very opinionated to those who knew her best and she was known for her strong work ethic. Along with her late husband by her side, she helped sow, care for, harvest, and can their own vegetables out of four gardens over the years. She was employed with State Farm prior to retiring in 1996. During her downtime, Bonnie enjoyed yard selling with her girls or simply staying at home to spend time with “Binx,” her faithful cat. She loved her family, but Binx and her grandchildren were the apples of her eye.

Family remaining to cherish her memory includes her children, Carole Pardue, Vickie Bailey (Terry), Donna Steele, and Kathy Lechowich; grandchildren, Joshua Bailey, Mathew Pardue, Lauren Steele, Kimberly Steele, and Henry Lechowich; brother, Ricky Robertson (Sandi); and numerous nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Bonnie’s wishes, a private celebration of her life service will be conducted at a later date.
