Lena Kay Carroll

Lena Kay Carroll, 69, of Martinsville, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022. She was born on May 30, 1952 in Welch, WV to the late Hugh and Ivy Mullins. In addition to her parents she was preceded by husband, David Carroll who died on April 24, 2013 (married 43 years); brother-in-law, Glen Whalen and Steve Coleman; and brother, Monroe Mullins.
Lena attended Vision Assembly of God in Collinsville. She had worked as a seamstress for most of her life. She loved spending time with her family, attending church, riding around the Blue Ridge Parkway, visiting Floyd County and Meadows of Dan. She also loved attending family gatherings (was known for her delicious banana pudding) and Elvis Presley.
Lena is survived by daughter, Dana Carroll (Hyram Greer); granddaughters, Celestia Greer and Terra Greer; sisters, Wanda Whalen, Neida Coleman, Rachel Hall (Pete) and Jean Younce; brothers, Jack Mullins (Jonna) and Danny Mullins (Amanda); many nieces and nephews she dearly loved.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. Graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 pm at Ross Harbour United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Marla Moore officiating. Burial will follow the graveside service.
Due to the governor’s requirements for COVID 19, a face covering is recommended and social distancing should be observed when visiting the funeral home.
