Delbert Blankenship

Delbert Blankenship, 74, of Bassett, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, N.C.  He was born in Buchanan, Va. on February 13, 1948, to John Blankenship and the late Ada Matney Blankenship.  He was preceded in death by grandchildren, Kayla Turner, Jordan Blankenship: brother Billy Ray Blankenship; two sisters; brothers-in-law, Robbie Prater and Paul Hurley. 
He was a member of the cattlemen’s association.
Surviving is his loving wife, Geraldine Mae Blankenship; two daughters, Regina C. Hodges, and Charlene R. Blankenship; son, Michael W. Blankenship (Tisice); four grandchildren, Chelsea A. Justice (Alex), Joseph Tyler Justice, SaVanna J. Gutshall (Jeremy) Michael Alex Blankenship; six greatgrandchildren, Ryleigh Vaughn, Kathyrn Vaughn, Lucas Gutshall, Corey Blankenship, Kase Blankenship and Lilyana Davis. Also surviving is a brother, Thurman Blankenship (Tavey); sisters, Lois Gail Prater, Lisa Gail Daniels and Phyllis Hurley; sister-in-law, Brenda Blankenship and numerous nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be Thursday, June 2 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Bassett Funeral Service.  Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, June 3 at 1:00 p.m. in Bassett Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Jason Alverson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Blankenship family cemetery 88 Conway Lane, Stuart.
