John Henry Ranson Jr.

John Henry Ranson, Jr., 78, of Old Evergreen Road, Appomattox, died Saturday, June 4, 2022, at his residence.
He is survived by his wife, Ava Sue T. Ranson; his son, Jon Aubrey “Jay” Ranson; his mother-in-law, Alice Thomas all of Evergreen; and special cousins, Doris and Albert Harvey, Barbara Smith, and Andrea Nichols.
Johnny was born in Lynchburg, Va., on December 6, 1943, the son of the late Christine Harris Ranson and John Henry Ranson, Sr. He was a member of Evergreen United Methodist Church, the owner and operator of Ranson Electric, and co-owner of Lee Grant Mobile Home Park.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Evergreen Cemetery officiated by Rev. John Flood and Rev. David Drinkard.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
