Nellie Martin

Nellie Martin, 88, of Axton, Virginia passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at SOVAH Health of Martinsville. She was born November 26, 1933, in Henry County to the late June Martin and Elsie Carter Martin.

Nellie was a member of Mt Sinai Holiness Church and enjoyed attending church services until her illness. She was a dedicated employee of American Furniture for more than 30 years. She enjoyed watching T.V., especially the Price is Right, cooking, and loved her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sixteen sisters, seven brothers, and one great grandson.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Anderson Donell Martin, of the home; brother, Joe Martin, of Axton; goddaughter, Annette Foster; granddaughters, Sherricka Hughes (Marcus), Lakeshia Wilson, Ashley Wilson, Alexus martin, II; grandsons, Ryan Preston, Vick martin (Amy), Antonio Martin; eleven great grandchildren; five great, great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The funeral will be Monday, June 13, 2022, at 12:00 PM, at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be thirty minutes prior to the service.
