Billy Gene Scott

Billy Gene Scott, 78, of Goodview, went to be with the Lord on Saturday June 11th. He loved fishing, hunting, dancing, and playing country music on the guitar. He was a “Honkytonk Man”. He was a devoted Husband, Father, Papa, Son and Brother.

He is the son of the late General Jackson Scott and Myrtle Iva Scott. He was preceded in death by brothers Melvin, Morrison, Tootie, Tom, Ernest , and Ronnie Scott.

He served in the U.S. Navy onboard the Bon Homme Richard aircraft carrier as a BT ( Boiler Technician) serving 3 tours in Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife Peggy Scott; Son Josh Scott, Daughter in law Megan Scott; Grandchild Hope Scott; and sisters Judy Drewry; Nancy Foutz; Betty Gordon, and Brenda Miller. 

The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 14th 2022 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm for the viewing at Lotz Vinton Chapel. 

Funeral will be held Wednesday, June 15th at 2pm at Goodview Baptist Church.
