Dorothy Jean Gilley

Dorothy “Jean” Gilley 87, of Bassett passed away on Thursday June 30 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.  She was born in Henry Co, on March 1, 1935, the daughter of the late Ray Hampton Hall and the late Lonsie Clark Hall.  Jean was also preceded in death by her husband of 69 years William Curtis “W.C.” Gilley, infant daughter Sandra Phyllis Gilley, son Mark Gilley, great granddaughter Bria Shan Hensley, brother William Edmond Hall. Dorothy “Jean” was a member of First Baptist Church of Bassett. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Surviving are three children William Michael Gilley (Nancy), Robin G. Hensley (Bobby)and Mary Ann Hall. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, sister Dianne Wright and brother Elmer Hall. The visitation will be Tuesday, July 5 from 6-8p.m. at Bassett Funeral Service.  Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 6 at 1:00 p.m. at Bassett Funeral Service. Burial will follow in County Line Church of God of Prophecy.
