Amy Surratt Rookstool

Amy Surratt Rookstool, 41, of Roanoke, went to be the Lord on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. She was preceded in death by her father, Michael Surratt; and previous husband, Brian Jason Rookstool.

She graduated from James River High School and received her B.S. in History from UVA. She was a teacher at Appomattox High School and then Salem High School. She had a deep love for dogs, that led her to opening Go Big Agility Training School and to competing in a multitude of dog sports.

Amy is survived by her husband, James Miller; mother, Edith Surratt; aunt, Frances (David) Hale; cousins, Nicole Golding and Tyler Golding; and stepchildren, Elissa Miller and Amanda Miller.

A Graveside Service will be conducted at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 10am, with Pastor Troy Mays officiating. Also, a Visitation will take place at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek, on Monday, July 11, 2022 from 5-7pm.
